Striiiiiiiiiiiike!

Strangers forced together in carpool situations, walking in frigid weather and buses and trains on the halt. That's the scene in NYC today. Everyone ready to huff it. Yup the unbelievable is happening, a citywide strike is on. No demands met and the city's life blood shut down. Well another reason to thank God that I moved to New Jersey!!!

Even the newscasters on the spot were declaring, "We all prayed for them and our prayers were answered." They then ghoulishly tormented those most directly affected upon learning the true fate of those trapped with inanities like, "How do you feel?" and "Do you blame the governor for this?"

Sadly, this is just another example of how being "first" is more important than being accurate. If I have the story straight, the two-way radio reports overheard of "finding" the miners was correct but their status was assumed or mistakenly inferred without any sort of confirmation. This is sad, painful, and shameful for the families to have suffered even more than one would have thought possible. May the reality-based community step up to the plate and try to do what is possible to prevent others from experiences of this sort of heartache. There needs to be more focus on safety and an acknowledgement by the media that they need to pull their collective heads out before they too suffocate from lack of oxygen to the brain.
